Srinu from Akuthotapalle Village, Amangal Mandal, Rangareddy District, planted 8 acres of oil palm in his fields. Previously, he cultivated cotton, but due to labor issues and the cost of selling, he decided to make a change. He learned about oil palm from the agriculture officer and then contacted our field officer, Hima Kumar, for assistance with the plantation. Srinu also did inter-cultivation for additional income and receives a monthly subsidy of Rs. 4200 from the government. He received 1-year-old plants from our nursery and carefully inspected every plant before planting. Our field officer has been visiting his field every week or 15 days to check the plants and provide advice on plant growth.
